Milano, fun corridor with a touch of pink

            Je vous montrais hier l'un des paliers et couloirs du George V. Dans un tout autre style, j'ai photographié celui-ci au Nhow à Milan en sortant de l'ascenseur. Vous pouvez voir un autre post sur ce lieu en cliquant ici. 

            Yesterday I showed you the George V hallway. Today, here is another style. This is the Nhow hotel 4th stair hallway. I took this picture when I was getting out the elevator. You can see another post about this stylish place here.

Milano, black shelves and the painting

   

   J'ai imaginé cette décoration pour une cuisine. Des étagères en bois peint, un sol en béton ciré et une immense oeuvre d'art contemporain accrochée à un mur façonné comme de la pierre brute. Restaurant du Straf. Design par Vincenzo di Cotiis. 

   Designed this way, this room could be part of a kitchen. This is what I've thought when I've seen theses wood painted shelves, this smooth concrete floor and this huge contemporary work art on a wall which looks like a stone in the raw. Milano, shower is in the bedroom

       Voici une photo oubliée de la chambre numéro 1 du Palazzo Segreti où l'on voit que la cabine de douche est intégrée à la chambre, au bout du lit.         Here is a forgotten picture of the room number one at Palazzo Segreti at Milano. We can see the shower at the end of the bed as an element of the bedroom. Milano, floating sofa above the floor

              S'assoir sur un tapis volant... Cette banquette est suspendue avec des cables et la hauteur sous plafond est de 4 ou 5 mètres. J'ai pris cette unique photo en coup de vent dans le hall du Gray à Milan.  Je voulais voir quelque chose de moderne et de ludique avec un soupçon de fantaisie. Design par Guido Ciompi Architects.

            Would you like to sit on a floating sofa? This one does not touch the floor. It's hung to the ceiling which is very high. This is the only picture I've took at the Gray hotel at Milan where I spent a few minutes between two rendez-vous. This is the ground floor. Milano, blue early morning interior with linen

    Parquet ancien, large, brut et massif, hauteur des murs... bleus. L'ensemble m'a fait l'effet d'une agréable irréalité. À laquelle s'ajoute une inclination particulière pour la lampe de chevet. Milano, U.S. inspirations

    Décor d'inspiration US pour ce lieu milanais,  le Yard Suite and Dependance (dont on peut voir un autre post ici). La photo accrochée au mur, au-dessus des valises, est de Flip Schulke et représente le boxeur Mohamed Ali.

   US inspiration for this milanese interior, the Yard Suite and Dependance, about which I have already published (see here). The picture above the suit cases is by Flip Schulke and represents Mohamed Ali.

Milano, arts de la table

   En passant dans cette pièce, j'ai été attirée par la couleur, la forme et la matière de ces chaises (leur recouvrement m'a fait penser à du nid d'abeille) associées à cette fenêtre carrée en verre poli. Restaurant Oltremare.

  Arriving in this room, I have been surprised an d attracted the color, the form and the touch of these chairs (they seem to be covered of honeycomb material) associated to this polish glass squared window. Oltremare restaurant.

Milano, psychedelic pool

          L'Atomic spa Suisse, tel est son nom, est sous-terrain. C'est une caverne bleue aux parois recouvertes de boules métalliques argentées réfléchissantes ressemblant à des bulles de mercure. Cette étrange architecture abrite une piscine de forme originale aux belles dimensions. C'est une sorte de caverne de Platon version 70's délicieusement régressive. En quelques brasses, on peut y perdre la notion de l'espace et du temps. Design par l'architecte italien Simone Micheli.

          The Atomic spa Suisse, its name, is on the lower ground floor. It's a blue cavern with walls covered of mirror metallic silver colored balls looking like bubbles of mercury. This strange architecture shelters a pool which has an original forme and a large size. This is a kind of 70's version of Platon's cavern, deliciously regressive. Swimming here makes forget time and space. Design by Italian architect Simone Micheli.

Milano, velvet sensation

          Sensation de pénétrer dans un cocon de velour lorsqu'on arrive dans cette chambre aux parois identiques : sol, murs, plafond, même couleur, même matière, une sorte de béton très doux au toucher. La teinte plutôt sombre est ici très sécurisante et très heureuse. Elle n'entame pas l'espace car la hauteur sous plafond de ce vieux palazzo rénové est si grande... J'aime beaucoup aussi la couleur et l'éclairage indirect de la niche derrière le lit. Elle ne fait pas uniquement office de tête de lit mais également de table de chevet et de console car elle s'étend sur toute la largeur du mur. J'ai rarement vu une pièce de style cent pour cent contemporain aussi chaleureuse. J'aime tout ici jusqu'à la couleur de la lampe et du plaid. Parmi les 18 chambres uniques du Palazzo Segreti, celle-ci, la "numero uno" est ma préférée. J'ai déjà publié un post à son sujet (on peut le retrouver ici). Design par Brizzi+Riefenstahl Studio.

              This room gives a sensation of velvet cocoon as the ceiling, the walls and the floor are the same colour and the same material, a kind of concrete with a very sweet touch. The grey dark shade is happy and reassuring in this room. It doesn't cut into the space as the height under the ceiling of this old converted palazzo is so big... I like also the colour and the indirect light of the niche behind the bed. It's not only used as bedhead and bedside table as this niche "continue" all over the width of this wall. I've rarely seen such a warm room in one hundred per cent contemporain style. I like every thing here, till the colours of the bedside lamp and the blancket. Among the unique eighteen bedrooms of the Palazzo Segreti in Milano, this one, "numero uno", is my favourite. I have already published a post about it (to see it again, click here). Milano, and "Nhow" ladies and gentlemen...

Une ribambelle de fauteuils en plastique de toutes les couleurs habille l'intérieur et l'extérieur du gigantesque lobby de l'hôtel Nhow à Milan. Ils ont été conçus par deux créateurs italiens sous le label "Design of Love". La photo sur le mur a été réalisée par Marco Glaviano. 

Many plastic coloured armchairs cover the interior and exterior of the lobby of the hotel Nhow in Milan. They have been imagined by two Italian creators under the label "Design of Love". The author of the picture on the wall is Marco Glaviano. 

Milano, warm and soft design experience

Cette tige qui pend au-dessus de la petite table ronde est une lampe. Très près du sol, elle distille un éclairage indirect, à la fois incisif et chaleureux. A gauche de la fenêtre, la porte vitrée transparente est l'ouverture de la cabine de douche donnant directement sur la chambre et dont l'intérieur a été peint en couleur prune. Design par Brizzi+Riefenstahl Studio pour le Palazzo Segreti abritant 18 chambres toutes différentes. Celle-ci est la "numero uno" sur laquelle je prépare un autre post.
This shaft which hangs above the little transparent table is a lamp. Very close to the floor, it "distills" an indirect light, warm and incisive at the same time. On the left of the window, the glass door is the one of the shower cabin which is painted in plum-coloured inside and has a view on the bed. Milano, abundant interior

    Interieur milanais composé d'un très grand nombre de meubles et d'objets ayant comme point commun, l'Amérique du Nord. J'aime beaucoup le cadre Vogue à cette place. A moitié caché derriere le bouquet de tulipes, on dirait que les mannequins sont timides et qu'elles cherchent à voir sans être vues. Cela crée une image décalée du magazine de mode aux couvertures habituellement plus "extraverties" et ostentatoires. Salon du Yard Suite and dependance.

     Milanese interior made of many things and furniture with the United-States as common feature. I like the Vogue picture at this place. Middle-hidden behind the tulips bouquet, models look like if they were shy trying to see without been seen. It gives an unaccustomed image of the fashion magazine which use to be more extrovert and ostentatious. Living room of the Yard Suite and dependance. 

Milano, misty bedroom

Un jeté de lit en lin trainant savamment sur le sol, en guise de signature. Celle de l'hôtel Straf designé par l'architecte Vincenzo de Cotiis.
