   Les portes que l'on aperçoit sur la photo sont bien réelles et authentiquement anciennes. Imaginez un intérieur avec une belle hauteur sous plafond duquel on suspendrait des photos à l'aide de fils de pêche. Aperçu au pavillon albanais de la Biennale d'architecture 2018.
   The doors are real and authentique. Let's have a look at this interior concept with pictures hook from high ceiling in an antic environment. Like moving inside a piece of art. This was the Albanese corner at the Biennale 2018.

Le Restaurant (c'est son nom) de L'Hôtel.
This restaurant is called "Le Restaurant", a famous "étoilé". It is part of the hotel witch name is also "L'Hôtel". I don't have enough words to explain how much unique these places are.

Photographiés avec un iPhone, j'ai longtemps hésité à poster ces clichés à la définition douteuse et pourtant on y est... Il s'agit ici du Speakeasy, du Vertigo restaurant et Moon bar, célèbres lieux de fêtes sur les toits des buildings de Bangkok.

Milano, black shelves and the painting

   

   J'ai imaginé cette décoration pour une cuisine. Des étagères en bois peint, un sol en béton ciré et une immense oeuvre d'art contemporain accrochée à un mur façonné comme de la pierre brute. Restaurant du Straf. Design par Vincenzo di Cotiis. 

   Designed this way, this room could be part of a kitchen. This is what I've thought when I've seen theses wood painted shelves, this smooth concrete floor and this huge contemporary work art on a wall which looks like a stone in the raw. Capri, Jacky bar (the other picture)

       À l'époque (ouf! ce n'est plus le cas aujourd'hui), j'avais décidé que je ne publierais qu'une seule photo par post et que je ne dérogerais pas de cette "ligne éditoriale". Cela avait évidemment engendré des questionnements récurrents et interminables sur le choix de tel ou tel plan pour montrer une seule pièce en une seule image (et en général je faisais plusieurs centaines de clichés par pièce...). Rescapée des abîmes d'un choix draconien, voici donc "l'autre photo" du Jacky bar, celle que j'avais mise à regret de coté.  (Vous pouvez voir tous les posts concernant ce lieu sur une seule page en cliquant ici). 

       In the past (that's not the case now) I had decided that I would not publish more than one picture each post to show a room. Guess how hard sometimes it was to chose... Today, I'm glad to show you "the other picture" of the Jacky bar, the one that I had put one the side with regrets. (If you want to see all pictures about the Jacky bar, click here).

Milano, arts de la table

   En passant dans cette pièce, j'ai été attirée par la couleur, la forme et la matière de ces chaises (leur recouvrement m'a fait penser à du nid d'abeille) associées à cette fenêtre carrée en verre poli. Restaurant Oltremare.

  Arriving in this room, I have been surprised an d attracted the color, the form and the touch of these chairs (they seem to be covered of honeycomb material) associated to this polish glass squared window. Oltremare restaurant.

Paris, mirror standing on the floor

          Comble du raffinement, un miroir ancien posé à même le sol... Au départ, j'avais fait cette photo (ci-dessus) pour tester la lumière. Le crayon à papier géant était au coeur de mes intentions. Il y avait du monde hors-champ, juste sur la gauche. J'aime bien le résultat : une image un peu décadrée, presque fragile.           The ultimate in style : an ancient mirror leaned on the floor against the wall... At first, I've made this picture to test the light. The big pen was in the center of my attention. There were many people right on the left. I like the result : a picture a little bit off-cent, almost fragile. I had not seen that the mirror was making eyes at me. Lobby of the hotel Crayon. Paris, fancy trendy fiftie's

                    Quand on voit cette photo, peu de choses laissent présager de l'endroit où je me trouve au moment où je la prend. Il s'agit du salon du Platine hôtel qui a ouvert récemment et dont la presse parle beaucoup. Mais les magazines montrent en général, à juste titre, des images plus caractéristiques de cet endroit où chaque chambre contient une photo géante de Marilyn Monroe en guise de tête de lit et une décoration hommage à son univers. Cette icone s'affiche à tous les étages et même dans l'ascenseur où un écran intégré passe en boucle de nombreux extraits de ses films. Evidemment, j'ai bien aimé photographier ses chambres très étudiées et j'aurai le plaisir d'en montrer à l'occasion d'un prochain post. Mais bon, tout ça pour dire que c'est sur ce salon que je me suis vraiment arrêtée, cet angle-là précisément. À la fois subtile et feutrée, cette pièce est une sorte de respiration et m'a bien plu. On me souffle par dessus mon épaule : "Très Mad Men, ce salon"... À chacun ses références, tant qu'on s'y retrouve.. Design de Vincent Bastié.

                     When we see this picture, it's not evident to guess where I was when I took it. This is the living room of the Platine hôtel which has recently opened and which has been covered by many magazines. But the press (it's understandable) usually rather shows pictures which are more representative of this place where each room has a giant photo of Marylin Monroe by way of bedhead and a specific decoration as tribute to her world. The icon is present at every storey and even in the elevator where a TV screen shows extracts of her films. Of course I was glad to photograph its polished bedrooms and It will be a pleasure to show some of them in a next post. Well, aaaaall this to tell you that the place which really made me stop, there, was this living room located on the main floor, precisely this angle. As subtle as soft, this room is a kind of breath and I like it. Someone looks over my shoulder and suggests me : "Very Mad Men this living room!"... Every one has his own reference, the important thing is to enjoy the place.. Design by Vincent Bastié.
