Paris, pencil and the mirror (living room)

  Voici la photo oubliée de l'hôtel Crayon à Paris, celle que je n'avais jamais publié car je n'aimais pas le reflet du porte-manteau dans le miroir... Aujourd'hui je ne vois plus que la finesse du miroir, la qualité de la glace, son effet aquatique, les goûts changent...
  Here is the picture I had never published as I didn't like the coat rack reflection. Today I change my mind : I only see the nice aquatic effect of the mirror and its delicacy. Seen at l'hôtel Crayon.

Paris, let's "work" on the walls

           J'ai été charmée par ces belles commodes anciennes reconverties en meuble pour lavabo. Elles sont si délicates. J'aime également ces accumulations de miroirs au look vintage, le patchwork de tapisseries sur les murs. Les enfants de la décoratrice en ont eux-mêmes colorié une partie. Design et esquisses par l'illustratrice-décoratrice Julie Gauthron pour la suite "Exquise esquisse" de l'hôtel Crayon. 

        Arriving here, I've been charmed by these beautiful antique chests of drawers converted as washbasin furniture. I like also these accumulations of vintage mirrors, this patchwork of wallpapers. The children of the designer themselves coloured in a part of it. Decoration and sketches by Julie Gauthron for the suite "Exquise esquisse" of the hotel Crayon.

Paris, loft is soft

           Je n'avais pas fini de vous montrer le lobby de l'hôtel Crayon. Ici, difficile de se sentir dans un hôtel. On se croirait plutôt invité dans un loft habité par une bande de copains créatifs et généreux. Quelques dessins sur les murs, des recoins, des reliefs. Des perspectives. Design par Julie Gauthron.           I had not finished to show you the lobby of the hotel Crayon. Here, it's hard to feel that you are in a hotel. Paris, mirror standing on the floor

          Comble du raffinement, un miroir ancien posé à même le sol... Au départ, j'avais fait cette photo (ci-dessus) pour tester la lumière. Le crayon à papier géant était au coeur de mes intentions. Il y avait du monde hors-champ, juste sur la gauche. J'aime bien le résultat : une image un peu décadrée, presque fragile.           The ultimate in style : an ancient mirror leaned on the floor against the wall... At first, I've made this picture to test the light. The big pen was in the center of my attention. There were many people right on the left. I like the result : a picture a little bit off-cent, almost fragile. I had not seen that the mirror was making eyes at me. Lobby of the hotel Crayon. Paris, orange with something more

Le fauteuil à gauche, oui celui-là, le blanc... Je le veux! Enfin, disons que j'aimerais bien trouver le même un jour mais ce sera difficile. Car ici, les meubles ont été, un à un, savamment dénichés, aux Puces ou ailleurs. Idem pour les autres chambres de l'hôtel Crayon dont celle-ci fait partie. Elles sont toutes uniques et ont été peintes dans différents coloris. On note également, dans chaque pièce, l'accumulation très seyante de petits cadres sur le mur, comme ici. Tous différents également, expression vive du raffinement présent à tous les étages. Ainsi l'hôtel Crayon "s'appelle revient" avec d'autres posts en préparation. The armchair on the left, yes this one, the white one... I want it! Well, I'd like to find the same one day but it will be difficult. Because, here, every piece of the furniture has been cleverly found, one by one, at flea markets or somewhere else. Idem for the other bedrooms of the hotel Crayon of which this one is part of. They are all unique and have been painted in different colours. Let's notice, in every room, the accumulation of frames with old pictures on the wall, as here. Every of them is also unique and express a part of the refinement which is present from a storey to the other. This is a reason why I take pleasure in preparing some other posts about the place.
