Paris, back from a long holiday

        La pause blog de l'entre-deux fêtes a largement débordé cette année sur le mois de janvier. Encore merci pour toutes vos visites sur ces pages. Voici en guise de teaser une image du studio situé dans le marais dont je vous annonçais précédemment la mise en ligne. Je vous en dévoilerai toutes les coutures mercredi ou jeudi. Le miroir que vous voyez sur la partie droite de la photo est également une télévision. Quand elle est éteinte, elle redevient miroir.
         Finally the blog took a long Xmass break including January. Thank you again for all your visits on these pages. Here is a picture of the studio located in Le Marais that I shot last month. I will show you much more about it on wednesday or thursday. The mirror you can see on the left side of the picture is a television. When it's switched off, it becomes a mirror.

Anacapri, pergola with a view (balcony)

Paris, the Grey touch (two bedrooms)

           "Ici, il ne manque plus qu'une boite Acqua di Parma"... Ce commentaire n'est hélas pas de moi mais d'un gentleman-très-esthète-au-chic-indiscutable à qui j'ai montré un cliché de la chambre avec les coussins jaunes. Ces images viennent compléter les deux précédents posts sur le Grey dont vous pouvez revoir toutes les photos en cliquant ici. Design de Vincent Bastie et Elsa Joseph.

       "The only thing that is missing here is a box of Acqua di Parma, yellow and stylish"... This comment  is alas not mine. It comes from a dandy very chic to whom I showed the picture with the yellow cushions. Paris, 100% Grey (living room)

       Vous vous souvenez du précédent post sur le Grey ? (On peut le revoir en cliquant ici). Je vous disais que les designers Vincent Bastie et Elsa Joseph avaient utilisé 12 nuances de gris pour décorer toutes les pièces de ce nouveau lieu. Il en résulte un "gris sur gris" très visible ici dans le petit salon de cette suite. Mercredi, je vous montrerai une ou deux chambres du même endroit. Bonne semaine !

    Have you seen the previous post about The Grey ? (It's here). I was telling you that designers Vincent Bastie and Elsa Joseph had used 12 nuances of grey color to decorate all the rooms of this new place. It's very visible here in the living room of the "suite des toits de Paris" ("Paris' roofs suite"). Wednesday, I will show you one or two bedrooms of this hotel. Have a nice week !

Milano, fun corridor with a touch of pink

            Je vous montrais hier l'un des paliers et couloirs du George V. Dans un tout autre style, j'ai photographié celui-ci au Nhow à Milan en sortant de l'ascenseur. Vous pouvez voir un autre post sur ce lieu en cliquant ici. 

            Yesterday I showed you the George V hallway. Today, here is another style. This is the Nhow hotel 4th stair hallway. I took this picture when I was getting out the elevator. You can see another post about this stylish place here.

Paris, luxurious hallway with something delicate

     Les courbes et la finesse de cet ascenseur me font penser à la calligraphie d'autrefois. Il est une véritable écriture à lui tout seul et semble avoir été dessiné avec une plume et de l'encre maîtrisant parfaitement les pleins et les déliés. Vous avez vu ce sol ? Si bien entretenu que tout s'y reflète comme dans un miroir. Et c'est au même étage, vous le verrez dans la photo ci-dessous, que j'ai découvert au détour d'un couloir ce ravissant petit meuble joliment posé sur ce sol en marbre à pois noirs façon plumetis tellement piquant et inattendu associé à cette tapisserie façon toile de Jouy sur un fond de couleur mandarine... J'ai pris ces deux photos dans les couloirs du Four Seasons George V, pas si classique que cela finalement... 

        The curves and the fineness of this antique elevator are like the old calligraphie made of ink with a feather. It seems to write something at every stair of this building. And have you seen this floor ? So well-made and well-maintained that it is a real mirror where every wall is reflected. And it is at the same stair, as you see in the picture below, that I've found this lovely furniture nicely laid on this other marble floor, spotted like swiss muslin, so vivid and unexpected, associated to this original mandarin  wallpaper made in a toile de Jouy stylish way. I took these two pictures at Four Season George V hotel which is not that much classic finally...

Paris, studio "Père Lachaise" kitchen

       On est ici dans la cuisine du studio "Père Lachaise". Vous pouvez revoir les autres photos de cet appartement en cliquant ici. Et vous observerez ainsi que ce sympathique tissus à carreaux rouges et le placard en altuglas de même couleur sont très raccord avec les bols fringants du petit dej' apparaissant dans le post précédent. Au-dessus de l'évier, on aperçoit une partie de l'entrée du studio grâce au reflet de la fenêtre. 

        This is the kitchen of the studio "Père Lachaise". If you want to watch the other pictures of this apartment, click here. Then you will see that this typically french squared fabric and the red color of the kitchen cupboard both match with the breakfast bowls appearing in the precedent post. Above the sink, the window reflect shows a part of the studio hallway.

        Et voici un intérieur privé situé boulevard Ménilmontant, le studio "Père Lachaise" surnommé ainsi pour sa proximité avec le cimetière du même nom. Aux abords de la table à manger, le style pop de ces deux chaises pratiques et pimpantes met bien en valeur par contraste le parquet ancien, les meubles vintage et la cheminée en marbre. Vous avez vu sur quoi est posé l'iMac? Il s'agit d'une ancienne table à couture Singer reconvertie en bureau. J'aime également cette idée d'un seul pan de mur recouvert de papier peint, cela structure bien les petits espaces comme celui-ci en leur donnant du relief. Place aux images et bonne visite. Dans un prochain post, je vous montrerai deux ou trois photos de la cuisine (pour les voir, cliquer ici). Ce studio a été aménagé et décoré par Sylvia Harrault et Christophe Bosch.

       Here is a private interior located in a flat of Menilmontant Boulevard. This is the "studio Père Lachaise" surnamed this way for its short distance from the famous eponymous cemetery. The pop style of these two handy and fresh chairs enhances by contrast the ancient parquet, the vintage furniture and the marble chimney. Have you seen the place of the iMac? It's put on an antique Singer sewing table converted as a desk. I like also the idea of this only single wall covered with paper as it gives relief and structure to small spaces as here. Roma, blue sky balconies at Campo dei Fiori

        Ce matin à Paris, il fait une telle grisaille que je vous sors deux photos de balcons de "derrière les fagots", histoire de récupérer un peu de ciel bleu et de se rappeler les belles perspectives de la ville éternelle... Je reviens dès mercredi avec un intérieur privé parisien, un studio, photographié il y a quelques jours. Bonne semaine.

       This morning, in Paris, the weather is so bad that I've decided to publish these two balconies pictures to catch a part of blue sky and the nice perspectives of the eternal city... I come back on the blog this wednesday with pictures I took last week in a Parisian private studio apartment. Have a nice week.

Milano, black shelves and the painting

   

   J'ai imaginé cette décoration pour une cuisine. Des étagères en bois peint, un sol en béton ciré et une immense oeuvre d'art contemporain accrochée à un mur façonné comme de la pierre brute. Restaurant du Straf. Design par Vincenzo di Cotiis. 

   Designed this way, this room could be part of a kitchen. This is what I've thought when I've seen theses wood painted shelves, this smooth concrete floor and this huge contemporary work art on a wall which looks like a stone in the raw. Paris, starring the egg chair (living room)

     En attendant de vous montrer plus précisément pourquoi le Grey s'appelle The Grey, voici  le salon situé au rez-de-chaussée de ce nouvel hôtel donnant sur une petite rue confidentielle du 9ème arrondissement. Un fauteuil egg s'est glissé dans ces images, "saurez-vous le retrouver"? Design par Vincent Bastie et Elsa Joseph qui ont utilisé 12 nuances de gris pour décorer toutes les pièces de ce nouvel endroit. Oeuvre murale signée Julie Gauthron.

     Waiting for a next post where I can't wait to show you why The Grey is called The Grey, here is the living room of this new hotel overlooking a confidencial street in the 9th arrondissement of Paris. This room is starring the egg chair as a sumptuous fuchsia imprint. Mural work by Julie Gauthron. Design by Vincent Bastie and Elsa Joseph. They used 12 shades of grey color to decorate all the rooms of this new place.

       Voici une photo oubliée de la chambre numéro 1 du Palazzo Segreti où l'on voit que la cabine de douche est intégrée à la chambre, au bout du lit. Les autres photos de cette chambre se trouvent ici. Elles datent de l'époque où je ne publiais qu'une à deux photo par jour et par post. Design par Brizzi+Riefenstahl Studio.

        Here is a forgotten picture of the room number one at Palazzo Segreti at Milano. We can see the shower at the end of the bed as an element of the bedroom. Paris, Marlene Dietrich lived here (bedroom)

     Et voici comme promis quelques images (prises par temps résolument gris) de la chambre de la suite où Marlène Dietrich vécut trois ans et demi. Vous pouvez voir le post montrant son salon et racontant un peu l'histoire de ce lieu en cliquant ici. 

      Here we are in Marlene Dietrich's bedroom suite where the artists lived 3 years and a half (there was a really bad grey weather when I took these pictures but I should better not complain about the bad weather as I want to keep shooting other Parisian interiors this winter...). You can see the other post about this suite showing the living room and telling about its story here.

Paris, colored window and its view (stair)

       Escalier du Seven, noir et blanc, effet "pop art" des fenêtres teintées donnant sur une jolie vue bien parisienne. Design par Vincent Bastie. Cet escalier mène notamment à la suite James Bond que vous pouvez revoir en cliquant ici.

       This is the black and white Seven hotel stair. See the pop-art effect of the colored window looking out over a very nice and typical parisian view. Design by Vincent Bastie. This stair is close to the James Bond suite which you can see again here. 

Paris, Marlene Dietrich lived here (living room)

   Marlène Dietrich a habité cette suite de l'hôtel Lancaster situé au 7, rue de Berry, quasiment à l'angle des Champs Élysées, durant trois ans et demi dans les années 30. Ce piano est bien celui sur lequel elle jouait lorsqu'elle occupait les lieux. Le bureau était déjà là également ainsi que la plupart des meubles occupant le salon. C'est ainsi qu'Émile Wolf, à cette époque-là premier propriétaire de l'hôtel et grand collectionneur d'art, avait aménagé la suite. Un régal à photographier. Plus récemment quelques objets et autres portraits ont été donnés par le petit-fils de Marlène Dietrich. Nous en voyons quelques-uns rendant hommage à l'artiste dans la vitrine de la table basse.   Marlene Dietrich lived in this suite of the hotel Lancaster located rue de Berry close to Champs-Élysées during three years and a half during the 30's. This piano was already there as many other furniture like the desk. Emile Wolf, first owner of this hotel and art collector, did decorate the suite this way. Well, guess the pleasure I took when I've photographed this place. More recently, Marlene Dietrich grand-son gave thinks and pictures which were her. As you can see in the the coffee table display. Enjoy the visit ! In a next post, I will show you her bedroom.
