Paris, l'escalier magnifique

Cet escalier d'époque Empire est l'épicentre de l'hôtel Maison Champs-Elysées dont j'ai également photographié le salon blanc. Sous l'escalier, on aperçoit les fauteuils au design caractéristique du créateur Martin Margiela.

This Napoleonic stair is the epicentre of the hotel "Maison Champs-Elysées" of which I've also pictured the white room. Under the stair, there are some caracteristic Martin Margiela designer chairs.

Paris, white living room and its stuffed birds

On ne présente plus l’hôtel Maison Champs-Elysées récemment redécoré par une autre "Maison", celle de Martin Margiela. Tous les magazines de déco et de design en parlent depuis le début de l'été 2011, mais je n'y avais pas encore vu ces deux oiseaux... Belle surprise! Aussi pimpants qu'immobiles, ils enchantent le salon blanc dans un jeu de transparences et de miroirs.

No need to present Maison Champs-Elysées hotel, recentely redecoded by an another "Maison", the one of Martin margiela. All design and deco magazines have been talking about that since the beginning of summer 2011, but I hadn't read or see anything about these two birds... Then, what a joyous surprise I had when I come there! As bright as immobile, they delight the white living room in a transparences and mirors set.

Paris, 11ème arrondissement, chez Septime

Il y a de belles idées dans l'aménagement et la décoration de ce tout petit espace réservé aux toilettes du restaurant parisien Septime. Ces miroirs reflètent une porte vitrée ancienne permettant d'observer, à la dérobée, une cour arborée si belle et si charmante qu'on en parle autant que de la cuisine du restaurant lui-même. Un endroit très à la mode en ce moment. 

There are some nice ideas in decoration and arrangement of this very small space reserved to Septime restaurant toilets. This mirors reflect a wooded courtyard so charming that it is famous as much as the dishes of the restaurant itself, fashionable place of the moment.

Dernière image de ma série Cocteau. Il n'aura pas fallu trois posts pour se rendre compte que l'écrivain aimait les intérieurs plutôt chargés.. Voir ici et là. Et pour finir voici donc sa chambre avec sa peinture murale et son lit une-place, rose, à baldaquin.

Last picture of my Jean Cocteau's house serie. It doesn't need 3 posts to see how much this french writer rather liked over-ornate interiors.. See here and there. To end the show, here is his bedroom with its mural and four-poster pink single bed.

Alsace, un bureau de dessinateur

Ce mélange de noir et blanc m'est apparu comme un écrin à la boite de feutres multicolore.

This black and white blending is like a jewel-case for the multicolored box of felt-tip pens.

Courances, dining room

Une des salles à manger du château de Courances. Ces tables d'époque ont la particularité de ne pas être en marbre contrairement aux apparences. Elles sont en bois peint. Un réalisme à s'y méprendre..

One of Courances castle dining room. These antique tables have the particularity to be made not in marble as they look but in painted wood. A really bluffy realism..

Sur la gauche, on aperçoit une partie du rideau en lin blanc destiné à protéger la maison du soleil.

On the left, the picture shows a part of white linen curtain used to protect the house from the sun.

Milly-la-forêt, le boudoir "léopard" de Jean Cocteau

La décoration et les objets sont d'origine ainsi que la tapisserie au motif léopard recouvrant les murs et le plafond. Le canapé (hors-champ) est également léopard... J'aime bien le désordre très créatif régnant sur la table de droite (plan rapproché ci-dessous).

Decoration and objects are of origin as this leopard wallpaper on the walls and the ceiling. In this room, even the sofa (out of this picture) is "leopard"... I like the very creative mess reigning on the second table (close-up below).

La grande lampe que l'on aperçoit sur la droite a été chinée dans une cristallerie, il y a 50 ans.

The big lamp on the right had been found in a crystall glassworks, 50 years ago.

Courances, petite serre et sa terrasse

Située à l'entrée du chateau de Courances, cette petite serre abrite aujourd'hui des jouets et des déguisements pour les enfants.

Located in Courances castle park, nowadays this little greenhouse shelters some toys and costumes for childreen.

La pièce est éclairée par de grandes verrières.

The room is lighted with a glass roof.

La savante association de toutes ces lampes suspendues à ce plafond improbable me rappellent le design de certains lofts aux origines industrielles.

All these odd lights hanging from this improbable ceiling remind me some industrial premises converted as a loft.

Normandie, une chambre au-dessus de la plage

J'aime bien quand le mur correspondant à la tête de lit est peint ou tapissé de manière différente du reste des murs. C'est rafraichissant, cela fait très "maison de vacances".

I like when the wall in relationship with the bedhead is paint or papered in a way different from the other walls of the bedroom. It makes it very "holiday home", it's refreshing.
