Paris, bathroom at the window and its bedroom

             J'aime beaucoup les salles de bain avec baignoire "à pied", parquet et meubles anciens. Celle-ci donne sur la rue du Cherche-Midi. Située côté fenêtre, elle est séparée de la chambre par une cloison de verre et sa porte vitrée à la manière d'un jardin d'hiver.           I like bathrooms in which I can find some bathtub "with legs", a parquet floor and antique furniture. This one is overlooking the Cherche-midi street. Located at the window, the bathroom is separated from the bedroom by a glass dividing wall and its glass door looking like a winter garden. Paris, 100% Hiquily

      Le sculpteur Philippe Hiquily a réalisé l'ensemble des meubles, tableaux, miroir, luminaires et lampes de chevet de la suite éponyme de l'hôtel Lutetia. Il n'est pas rare que l'artiste lui-même y séjourne. J'ai abordé la suite Hiquily en retenant ma respiration, un peu comme lorsqu'on parcourt une exposition d'art contemporain saisissante. Voici en quelques images ce que j'en ai restitué. Bonne visite. (Tous les posts concernant le Lutetia se trouvent ici).

      The sculptor Philippe Hiquily has made all the furniture, lamps, paintings and mirror of the eponymous suite at the hotel Lutetia. Even the bedside lamps. I paced up and down the Hiquily suite the same way I would have visit a fascinating Modern art exhibition, holding my breath. Here are a few pictures of what I have kept of it. Enjoy the visit. Anacapri, terrace with a sfinge

     Un point de vue depuis la villa San Michele et sa célèbre sphinge. Sur la ligne d'horizon, on distingue le Vésuve.

Paris, mirrors and reflections

          Immensité et classicisme observés dans le reflet d'une porte vitrée. Nous sommes ici dans la suite impériale du Bristol. C'est dans ce palace que Woody Allen a tourné une partie du film "Midnight in Paris". On peut voir d'autres photos du Bristol en cliquant ici.           Immensity and classicism seen through mirrors and doors. Here we are in the suite impériale of Le Bristol. It's in this palace that Woody Allen made a part of his movie "Midnight in Paris". Capri, sweet delicate details

         Une photo toute simple prise aux alentours d'une charmante coiffeuse aperçue dans une suite du Quisisana, le plus ancien palace de Capri, le plus mythique et le plus fréquenté. Entre autres innombrables célébrités, les écrivains Oscar Wilde, Jean-Paul Sartre et Ernest Hemingway y ont séjourné. Typiques de cette région, les sols carrelés à motifs sont en général dans les tons de bleu. Beaucoup plus rare, celui de cette pièce est orange : original et lumineux, l'effet bonne mine et bonne humeur est immédiat. Il y a déjà eu et il y aura encore d'autres posts concernant le "Quisi".         Here is a simple picture taken around a charming dressing-table. I saw this corner in a junior suite at the famous and busy Grand hotel Quisisana which is the most ancient and mythic palace at Capri. As many other celebrities, Oscar Wilde, Jean-Paul Sartre and Ernest Hemingway did sojourn there. Let's go back to the picture. Typical from this region, the tiled floors are usually made in blue shades. More rare, the one of this room is orange : original and luminous, it creates an immediate effect of cheerfulness.
